Honeymoon Fund

We have all the bath towels and salad spinners we need, but would be forever grateful for contributions towards our dream honeymoon to South Africa and Mauritius. Below is our itinerary, co-created with Clamer Travel Club, our Italian-based travel agent. It's broken out into flights, lodging and activities for each leg of the trip.

Fortunatamente abbiamo tutte le tovaglie e gli scolapasta di cui abbiamo bisogno, per questo saremmo felicissimi se voleste contribuire alla nostra luna di miele! 6 Oct: Firenze > Cape Town 

First step:  From Florence to Rome. Emirates Flight to Cape Town through Dubai. Early morning arrival in Cape Town and transfer to hotel. Total stay: 4 nights. Days will be spent discovery Cape Town and surrounding areas (perhaps a quick shark dive too!). Our options include: “Cape of Good Hope” Natural Reservee, “Cape Point” (where the Atlantic meets the Indian), False Bay, Penguin Beach, Hout Bay, Table Mountaint hikes, Robben Island.

Primo trasferimento: da Firenze a Roma Fiumicino. Volo Emirates a Cape Town via Dubai, con arrivo a Cape Town in mattinata e trasferimento in albergo. Permanenza: 4 notti. Giornate libere a scoprire Cape Town e dintorni (forse ci scappa anche il bagno con gli squali... forse). Tra le opzioni: “Cape of Good Hope” Natural Reservee, “Cape Point”, a vedere dove l’Atlantico incontra l’Indiano, False Bay, Penguin Beach, Hout Bay, Table Mountaint, Robben Island.

11 Oct: Cape Town > Durban

South African airlines flight to Durban. We’ll rent a 4x4 and then check in at the African Pride Audacia Manor hotel. Next day, we’ll visit Durban city center and the Dumazulu Culutral Village. Then, off to Hluhluwe

Volo South African airlines per Durban. Noleggio 4x4 e arrivo in hotel African Pride Audacia Manor. Mattina successiva, visita a Durban, e al Dumazulu Culutral Village. Poi partenza per Hluluwe.

13 Oct: Hluhluwe

We’ll 1spend the night at Zululand Tree Lodge and try our first attempt to see the big 5 both at sunset and sunrise.

Pernottamento al Zululand Tree Lodge. Primo tentativo di vedere i big 5 con safari al tramonto e all’alba successiva.

15 Oct: Swaziland

On our way to Kruger Park, we’ll make a quick stop in Swaziland, where we’ll sleep at the Foresters Arms hotel and visit the city center of Mbabane.

Sulla rotta per il Kruger, pernottamento all’hotel Foresters Arms e, mattina successiva, visita del centro di Mbabane.

17 Oct: Kruger 

Continuing our journey towards Kruger, we’ll make a quick stop at the Perry Bridge Hollow. The next day, we’ll head over to see the third biggest canyon in the world: the Blyde River Canyon. In the evening, we’ll arrive at Sabi Sands reserve and spend the night at Little Bush Lodge. To finish off our night, we’ll go on a sunset safari tour. The next day will be entirely dedicated to finding the big 5. 

Continuando sulla rotta per il Kruger, sosta al Perry Bridge Hollow e giorno successivo al Blyde River Canyon, il terzo canyon più grande al mondo. Nel pomeriggio arrivo alla riserva Sabi Sands, al Little Bush Lodge. Safari al tramonto e giornata successiva interamente dedicata alla ricerca dei big 5. 

19 Oct: Kruger > Johannesburg

From Kruger, we’ll drop off the car and fly to Johannesburg and spend the night at the City Lodge.
Dal Kruger, rilascio della macchina, volo diretto a Johannesburg e pernottamento al City Lodge.

20 Oct: Johannesburg > Mauritius

We arrive in Mauritius and set up camp at the wonderful Shanti Maurice. We’re planning on 9 whole days of R&R. Between laying out on the beach and eating delicious sea food, we might: get a couple massages, go on hikes, work out (maybe), visit some of the islands close by, fish, scuba dive. But really, we’re just looking forward to relaxing!

Arrivati a Mauritius, ci trasferiamo allo splendido hotel Shanti Maurice. Abbiamo in programma 9 giorni di puro relax. Tra un pisolino in spiaggia e un’abbuffata di frutti di mare, forse faremo: trekking, pesca, attività sportiva (forse), sub, escursioni varie. Ma soprattutto molto, molto relax!

29 Oct: Mauritius > Dubai > Firenze 

Time will fly by and before we know it, it’ll be time to catch our flight back (assuming we don’t decide to move to Mauritius). We flight through Dubai, spending one final night there, before landing back in Italy.

Il tempo passerà senz’altro velocissimo e prima di potercene rendere conto, sarà già ora di tornare in patria (ammesso e non concesso che si decida di tornare!). Prima però, tappa veloce (e forzata) a Dubai. Poi rientro in Italia.
